Lashun Goodine , better known by stage name Marco Da’ Great, was born December 18, 1987 at Oconee Memorial Hospital in Seneca S.C. Lashun faced many life changing experiences while being raised in the Perryhill community. However it wasn’t until 7th grade that Lashun began using writing and rhyming as an outlet to express his feelings. The more he wrote, the more he rhymed. The more he rhymed, the more confident he became. With his new found confidence, Lashun began to view music as more than a pastime but rather a future for him and his family!
Shortly thereafter Lashun and a few of his friends formed the rap group Perryhill Gangstas. Lashaun always struggled with the inner urge to heed to the call of the streets and by the 10th grade he could no longer resist. Laushun dropped out of school and turned to street life fulltime. During the same time frame Lashun and the Perryhill Gangstas released their first mixtape entitled “We Do Dis”. The mixtape created a lot of street creditability and buzz for the group. The mixtape was a life changing moment for Lashun, it represented the moment he knew in his heart he wanted to make music a career and leave street life behind. Lashun’s creative ability began to mature. As a result creative differences began to arise between him and the other members of the group. These differences eventually led to the release of Lashun’s solo mixtape “Carolina Heat’.
As fate would have it Lashun had the opportunity to meet with Eddie Kane, CEO of Young Dynasty Records. A mutual respect was formed between the two of them. In Eddie Kane, Lashun felt that he had found someone that understood and supported his drive. As a result Lashun joined the stable of talented artist that call Young Dynasty Records home.
